We loaded our diving boat one weekend morning and set out to
choose our rec dive location. This photo was snapped from a shipmate of
mine from the actual ship - USS Shenandoah.
We picked a spot to dive near the Central Italian town of Gaeta. We saw
this fortress in the crevasse of the cliff and anchored our boat. Looking
north along the coast was this neat looking castle/fortress on a very small
island.

We made our way back to the ship and others onboard we eager to see our
"catch...."
We found a bunch of coins and a 3.5 foot octopus. EVERYBODY wanted a
picture of that poor guy on my fingers! My shipmates gave me
copies...these are a couple of them.
