"I am a new trader who, perhaps like many new traders, was introduced to the markets through a mail order course and am grateful for the introduction. After completing the course, at least two things were very clear to me. My first conclusion was that the commodity markets are a source of both fantastic profits and, potentially devastating losses. My second conclusion was that the difference between my becoming a gambler, or an investor, would be made by a combination of both self-discipline and knowledge. The self-discipline, I knew quite well, I would have to find within. The knowledge, on the other hand, I would have to seek outside.

My first step in seeking the information I needed was to find a good full service broker. After calling many brokers after reviewing their materials, I settled with a firm that seemed to provide the best service for, what seemed at the time, a reasonable commission. My account sat dormant for a month as I studied charts, reviewed materials, and searched the Internet for clues. It was there that I found PTA Consultation Services and Brian Schad. After opening an account with PTA, I continued to hold my account with the full service broker in the hopes that I would maximize my informational resources, and compare the broker's services with PTA.

The experiment was a great success! Here's what I learned: From my broker, I learned that there was no market too "thinly" traded, no market with poor fills, no market that was too unpredictable for the inexperienced trader, and that there was no trading position that wasn't worth the commission I paid for the trade. My experience with Brian and PTA, gratefully, was a world and a half apart.

True to his word, Brian has never suggested to me any particular market to trade. While this was at first a source of some disappointment, I am now convinced that the knowledge that I have received from Brian in a short period of time will continue to be worth far more than any "Hot Tip" I will ever receive. Give someone a fish and feed them for a day, teach someone how to fish and feed them for a lifetime. Lastly, I would like to thank Brian for the first thing that he taught me; how to limit, or eliminate, my risk in both limited and unlimited profit potential positions, and how to profit even when the market moves against me.

It is clear to me now that the commodities markets are not as simple as I may have been led to believe in my introduction to them. Endowed with the resources of PTA consulting, this fact presents not a daunting obstacle, but an exciting challenge. "Brian, As the one year anniversary date of our business relationship draws near, I thought I'd take a moment and give you some of my thoughts on my education as a commodity trader. As you will recall, when I first joined up with you, I was just beginning my trading career; at that time still not having done any actual trading.
